Dental implants are used to replace missing teeth or severely damaged teeth that cannot be saved with other restorative treatments. A dental implant has two parts: a titanium post that is placed into the jaw to act as the ‘tooth root’ and a dental crown (or artificial tooth) that fills the gap left by the missing tooth.
Dental implants are the closest tooth replacement possible to natural teeth. Not only do they look and feel like the real thing, but they restore complete oral function and quality of life. This means you can eat, speak and smile just as you would with your natural teeth.

Yes. A payment plan with TLC (Total Lifestyle Credit) allows you to loan up to $50,000 for your dental implant treatment and pay in comfortable instalments over time. Easily apply online or over the phone and enjoy fast approvals and payouts for eligible patients.
Some patients may be able to apply for the early release of their super to cover the cost of their dental implant treatment. Learn more about this option, the eligibility criteria and how to apply in this article.
Rest assured that you won’t feel any pain or discomfort during the implant placement procedure. Local anesthetic is used to numb the mouth and most patients also choose to have treatment under IV sedation (also called twilight sedation or sleep dentistry) so they feel relaxed and comfortable during the procedure. Afterwards, you may have some discomfort, swelling and bruising for a few days, which can be easily managed with the pain relief medication provided to you. We recommend that you take at least a week off work to allow yourself enough time to rest and adjust to your new teeth.
With proper care and maintenance, including a good oral hygiene routine and regular check-ups by your dentist, dental implants should last for many decades. The lifespan of your final tooth bridge will depend on the material it’s made from. For example, an acrylic tooth bridge may need to be replaced after 5 to 10 years due to normal wear and tear, while a zirconia tooth bridge is much more robust and hard-wearing, and should last for several decades with the right care.
